HOW TO APPLY

It is very simple to apply to The Language Institute. You can begin your application by following these steps:

Learn about our programs and determine which program you want to study at TLI.

Learn our admission policies including Payment Policy and Cancellation & Refund Policy .

Determine when you want to begin your study at TLI. You should send application to TLI as early as you can. We suggest that you send your
application at least 8 weeks before your intended start date. Check our 2010 Program Calendar for details.

Prepare the required documents:
A copy of your current passport.
- Your passport must be valid for 6 months or longer.
Proof of financial support document.
- This can be a bank statement and/ or verification letter from your financial institution that shows your financial standing.
- If you have a sponsor, your sponsor must prepare a financial document and also complete our Affidavit of Support .

Download and complete TLI forms:
Academic application form .
If you need housing service and/or airport pick-up service, please also download service request form .

Send application form and all of the required documents to The Language Institute.

Make payment:
Application fee = $100 nonrefundable
Tuition Deposit = $500 refundable
Express Mailing Service = $50 nonrefundable
Service fee(s) = $250 for housing placement, $95 for airport pick-up service

For F-1 visa students, you are also required to pay a government fee (not visa fee) called SEVIS I-901Fee to the US immigration.
Please visit http://www.fmjfee.com for details. You can pay the SEVIS I-901fee by yourself or TLI can help you pay the fee for on your behalf. Please send your request along with your application.
Note: Starting October 27, 2008, SEVIS I-901 fee is $200 per student.

TLI usually processes your application and issue I-20, if applicable, within 24 hours after we received your completed application, all required documents and your payment. It is important that you inform us about any change as soon as possible. Once we issue I-20 and acceptance documents, we will send them to the address provided on your application form using express mailing service. You will be notified by e-mail of the shipment.

When you receive your I-20, we suggest that you examine your information on the I-20 and read all the documents carefully and thoroughly. If there is any mistake and/ or if you have questions, please feel free to contact us.
